As a busy mom of 3, I’m always looking for ways to make holidays feel special without turning them into a full-time job. And somehow, the 4th of July always ends up being one of my favorite holidays of the year.

There’s just something about backyard BBQs, kids running through sprinklers, fireworks, popsicles melting way too fast, and everyone hanging outside until it gets dark. It feels simple in the best way.

I rounded up some easy backyard BBQ inspiration that feels festive without requiring a massive party budget or a week of prep beforehand. I’m definitely not the mom making everything from scratch over here — I just like things to feel fun, relaxed, and a little put together.

This year I’ve been loving:

  • simple patriotic serving trays
  • cute disposable paper goods
  • charcuterie boards for easy snacking
  • outdoor string lights
  • drink dispensers for lemonade or mocktails
  • easy little touches that make the backyard feel extra festive

Honestly, I swear food instantly looks more impressive the second you put it on a tray instead of leaving it in the original container. That’s basically my hosting strategy.

I linked some of my favorite finds below if you’re hosting family, heading to a potluck, or just wanting your backyard setup to feel a little extra fun this year.
