Planning a beach vacation or just a quick trip to your local beach requires way more planning now that you have a baby than it ever did before.
So what does an infant need at the beach?

There’s a few essentials, and then some “nice to have” baby beach gear you definitely want to know about before enjoying sunny days at the beach.

Keep in mind that whether you use disposable swim diapers or reusable, they will NOT stop the babies pee from leaking out.
This means that if baby goes while you’re holding him or her, chances are you’ll get a little wet.
Swim diapers are meant to stop babies poop from going into the water, not pee.
So which swim diaper should you choose?
For us, it totally depends on how often we think we’ll be using it and what level of convenience we need.
Reusable swim diapers often are adjustable and can last through many sizes and beach trips, while disposable ones fit similar to regular disposable diapers and are a one time use.
If you’re vacationing away from home, it might not be ideal to cart a soaking wet diaper along with you after you’re done at the beach and you may want to opt for a quick disposable one.
Whatever you do, do NOT use a regular diaper for your baby in the water. They’ll absorb a ton of water, and eventually break open and start leaking out “fluff”. Ask me how I know 😉
