We love playing games in our house, but sometimes finding great games for preschoolers can be tricky.
We’ve compiled some of the best board games for preschoolers to help jump start or add to your collection.
Why Are Games Important For Preschoolers?
Games are so great for people of all ages, but at the preschool level, board games and family games can teach some incredible things:
- Social skills
- Cooperation/teamwork
- Turn taking
- Communication
- Memory retention
- Logic
- Language skills
- Colors/numbers
- Learning how to deal with frustration/losing
Best Logic Game For Preschoolers
Smart Farmer can be pretty tricky for younger pre-schoolers, but it’s incredible to watch your child’s brain work while they solve these fun and cute logic puzzles.
The idea of the game is to place farm animals in different locations based on the puzzle you’re given, and then use three difference shaped fences to separate each type of animal without moving the animal.
Sounds easy, huh?
Not so fast. Some of these puzzles had my husband and I scratching our heads too!
The game is easy to understand and after some guidance, pre-schoolers can play this on their own (which is a big win).
The solutions to each puzzle are included in the book, and even if your pre-schooler isn’t “getting it” yet, the animals and fence setup are adorable for some pretend play in the meantime.

Best Individual/Group Game for Preschoolers
Hands down, Zingo! is by far one of the best games for preschoolers.
Just like the name sounds, it’s pretty similar to Bingo but SO. MUCH. BETTER.
Here’s a few of the highlights of Zingo!:
- It can be played as a family/group or can be played independently by your child
- It doesn’t make the horribly annoying Bingo sound of the balls moving around
- It uses pictures, so younger children can play along
- It’s still fun for adults to play
- It has a super smooth design for picking a card out
