If you’ve started shopping for your new baby, chances are good you’ve seen some adorable products.
Unfortunately, sometimes some of the cutest and trendiest baby products come with a hefty price tag.
If you have an endless budget, that’s fine. But for most of us, finding ways to save when baby’s on the way is important.
In this post, I’ll help you find some of the best baby product dupes (that at times are almost identical to the real deal!).
Should You Splurge or Save on These Baby Products?
This is your beautiful bundle of joy – should you splurge or save on the newest gadgets and cutest clothes?
Well, that’s up to you.
Special features may make you more inclined to splurge on certain baby products, but if you’re trying to save money, I recommend you choose only a couple items to splurge on and find ways to save on the rest.
Using baby product dupes is one great way to do this!
So how do you choose what to splurge on?
Think about what’s most important to you and ask yourself these questions:
- How well will it hold up? (Usually more expensive $$ means better quality, but be sure to check!)
- Will I use it for more than one child?
- How long will it last? Newborn stage only? First year of life?
- How often will my baby/I use it? Daily? Once a week? Once a month?
- Can I resell it once I’m done with it for a good price?
These questions will help you decide if a product may be worth the splurge or whether you should consider the save option.
Baby Product Dupes
Lou Lou and Company VS. Elivia & Co.
Lou Lou and Company is a popular baby clothing brand known for its super soft and sweet baby clothing. They have swaddles, gowns, tops & bottoms for baby and more.
Unfortunately, it also comes with a higher price tag than your usual baby clothes.
While you can find many dupes for Lou Lou and Company in the baby product world, Elivia & Co. is almost identical.
The clothes are almost as soft and less than half the price.
They may not hold up as well (I haven’t had both long enough to test this), and they have much fewer options when it comes to size and colors.
If you’re looking for a sweet coming home outfit that’s cozy and cuddly – the Elivia and Co version might be just what you’re looking for.
Here’s a breakdown of the Splurge vs. Save for baby’s coming home outfit:

Fawn Design Diaper Bag VS. Miss Fong
If you’ve been searching for diaper bags, the Fawn Designer diaper bag has been popular for a few years and there’s a good chance you’ve run across it.
The Amazon version is less than 1/3 the price and has rave reviews, while looking almost identical.
The main difference is the Fawn Design’s faux leather throughout, potentially making it easier to clean.

Another diaper bag moms love is the Freshly Picked Classic Diaper Bag Backpack.
Ready for this? The save version is almost 80% cheaper than the splurge. Woah.
It’s important to note that several reviewers did note the smell on the save version when they received it, but the company does note a few ways to try to combat that (such as airing it out).
